a quick clutch

Hello hellooo...!
Look whose here again ;)
Its a dreamer who forgot to tell you that she's an arts teacher too. And with that addition in my intro also comes a good news that I'll be posting small projects weekly. They'd take maximum of an hour or two and you'll have a mind blowing, I-am-so-proud-of-my-art creation.
Well... not sure about upcoming projects but this project is gonna give you an equation in your head i.e MIND=BLOWN :P
Here's a picture of it.
Isnt this baby beautiful :')wondering whats so special in it? Its A RECYCLED MILK CARTON.

Yup. Thats right. Its a recycled milk carton. Its a jaw dropping and hard to believe but true fact.

Lets start with the supplies list:
A milk/cornflakes/or whatever size you like carton
Fabrics (i used plain black velvet and cheetah velvet for out side n black cotton for inside)
Metal studs lace (ive no idea what exactly its called :| )
Buttons
Velcro tape
glue gun
scissors
Blade

Luckily this time I've taken pictures of every steps. So what are we waiting for :)

First of all remove the top and bottom sides of the box. Cut it from any crease. The smaller patch would work as your closing flap for clutch.

Take the fabric for inside and cut it keeping an inch bigger from all side of the box. Stick it on the inside as you need the creases for your clutch.

This is how it should look from the out side. Fold the exceeded fabric and glue it.

Now cut two pieces of your desired clothes according to the sides again keeping it .5 inch larger. Fold one side and hem it with the glue. Stick it to one side of your box's end, leaving the top flap. Stretch it loosely till the other edge and stick the other side, and then the bottom closing one end of your box.

Repeat on the other side closing both ends.

Now take the main cloth and cut it .5 inch bigger than the size of box. Hem the longer edges of cloth with glue gun and cover the outside.

Dont worry about the messy edge on top. Its gonna get covered with lace.

Cut your studs or whatever laces or ribbons you desire and glue it.

Add the buttons,stones etc.

And feel PROUD OF YOURSELF :')
Isnt it beautiful? My family did not believe me when I showed them. And I loved seeing their eyes POP OUT :D
No more disappointed zombie walk when you get out of the mall without having your perfect match purse! :D

You can always add a chain if you like to hang it on shoulder.
Do share with me the pictures if you try it.
Questions are always welcome.

KEEP DREAMING... KEEP DIY-ING! :)
